James King is a PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Dr. Tyler Williamson and Dr. Gil Kaplan. He is specializing in epidemiology with a focus on identifying individuals newly diagnosed with celiac disease and early life risk factors for the condition. James has also been working as a Senior Analyst at Provincial Research Data Services (Alberta Health Services) for the last five years, collaborating on various epidemiological studies. A strong interest for research was spurred on by James' own diagnosis of celiac disease during his undergraduate studies - this ultimately shaped his subsequent career path given a newfound passion for research, epidemiology, and leveraging data to understand patterns of health across different populations. In his spare time, James enjoys listening to music and going to live shows, supporting his premier league team (Arsenal), and playing board games with his family and friends.
