Fernando Vicentini completed both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the State University of Maringá in Brazil and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary. Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow in the Bercik-Collins lab at the Farncombe Institute, McMaster University. His research focuses on GI neuroscience and host-microbe interactions, specifically examining how microbes influence gut innervation and the gut-brain axis in health and inflammatory conditions, such as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
