Jasmin is a second-year Health Sciences student at Queen's University, pursuing her Honours Bachelor's of Health Sciences degree. She conducted her summer research project in the Functional Genetics and Metabolism Lab at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute under the supervision of Dr. Kyoung-Han Kim. Her research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of SGLT2 inhibitors in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Jasmin's motivation for research is driven by a curiosity for science and passion for learning. She is inspired by the collaborative nature of research and the opportunity to contribute to projects with real-world impacts. Outside the lab Jasmin is heavily involved in leadership and volunteer roles across Kingston. Some of her hobbies include reading, spending time with family and friends, and travelling.
