Hello! My name is Andy, and I am an undergraduate researcher in the Bercik-Collins at McMaster University. My project deals with studying the immunology and physiology behind how the microbiota from patients with IBD can play a role in the pathology of the disease. Since coming to university, I wanted to see how I could make a contribution to science, and what I could learn outside of a traditional classroom. This opportunity to do research with the lab, as well as the support from the TRIANGLE Summer Studentship program has allowed me to grow in this area, and do more with my time at McMaster. Fun fact: my family owns two cats and a dog!
