My research focuses on a family of bacteria, and its influence on the development of the mucus layer and susceptibility to enteric pathogens. I am really excited to be in a program that allows me to interact with other like-minded individuals who also study the gut. For fun, I like to draw and play violin and watch tv. I am also passionately about teaching and mentoring students. Hopefully with the skills I learn I can one day become an effective science communicator.
