Biography

Dr. Natasha Haskey is a Research Associate in the Department of Biology at the University of British Columbia-Okanagan. She recently completed her post-doctoral fellowship working alongside Dr. Maitreyi Raman, MD at Alberta's Collaboration of Excellence for Nutrition in Digestive Diseases at the University of Calgary. Natasha's research focus is on how diet impacts the intestinal microbiome in digestive diseases. Natasha is a registered dietitian who after two decades of experience embarked on a PhD at UBC-Okanagan where she conducted the inaugural study on the influence of the Mediterranean Diet and ulcerative colitis. Natasha is the author of the textbook, Gut Microbiota: Interactive Effects on Health and Nutrition and Health. She still practices as an RD, partnering with LyfeMD - a cutting-edge digital platform tailored to support those living with inflammatory conditions. Natasha recently completed the prestigious Advanced Dietary Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Education and Training Program offered by Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. This intensive nine-month program further solidified her expertise, ensuring that she remains at the forefront of providing specialized nutrition care to those living with IBD.
