Rachael obtained a Bachelor of Science in microbiology at the University of Victoria (UVic) in 2019. During her undergraduate degree she spent 16 months in co-op placements which included working in a clinical immunology laboratory at the University of Calgary. This work inspired her to pursue immunology studies further and in the final year of her bachelor's degree Rachael completed an honours project in the lab of Dr. Lisa Reynolds in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at UVic. Today, Rachael is a PhD candidate in the Reynolds Laboratory investigating the function of eosinophils in several facets of mucosal immunity including early life oral tolerance development. Rachael enjoys presenting her research at national and international conferences and along the way, meeting new people who share a similar excitement about immunology and the gut as she does. In the lab, Rachael loves to mentor and inspire undergraduate students.
