Driven by a passion for understanding the immune system's interaction with parasitic infections, I pursued a Ph.D. in Immunoparasitology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. My doctoral research explored how the Atypical Chemokine Receptor ACKR2 influences immune responses during larval ascariasis. This fueled my fascination with immune regulation and led me to join the McKay Lab in 2023 as a Post-Doctoral Associate. Here, I investigate how the tapeworm Hymenolepis diminuta suppresses colitis-related inflammation, offering potential therapeutic insights. Outside the lab, music plays a big role in my life-I enjoy listening to music or playing instruments. I also love spending time in nature or staying active with physical activities.
