I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the laboratory of Dr. Agostino Pierro, in the department of Translational Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children. My research focus on understanding the pathophysiology of Hirschsprung disease, a congenital anomaly characterized by the absence of ganglions in the distal intestine. My project seeks to understand the relationship between changes of the intestinal microenvironment and its effect on enteric neural progenitor migration. In order to develop a potential novel therapeutic, I also work with lipid-nanoparticle technologies to deliver drug targets to the in utero environment of Hirschsprung disease mouse model to correct the aganglionic phenotype. Through the TRIANGLE program, I hope to seek mentorship towards finding future career opportunities, and to explore the possibility of transitioning from an academic environment into industry. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling around the world, exploring different foods and culture.
