Lekan Ajibulu completed his Honours degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Calgary before pursuing his medical studies at the University of Alberta. He is passionate about nutrition, physical activity, and community engagement. His research focuses on patient perspectives on digital health tools for chronic disease management, particularly inflammatory bowel disease. As a member of Dr. Armstrong's lab, he contributes to a pilot study examining how sleep, stress, and diet influence firefighters' mental, digestive, and cardiovascular health. By analyzing biosamples, wearable data, and surveys, the study aims to inform interventions that enhance first responders' well-being. Lekan is also the founder of Nutrition and Exercise Learning for Youth (NELY), a program dedicated to educating young students about healthy living. He is actively involved in medical student leadership, serving as VP External for the Black Medical Students' Association and spearheading initiatives to integrate culinary medicine into medical education.
