The Turner laboratory explores neonatal short bowel syndrome as it occurs in preterm neonates leading to intestinal failure. Our research includes nutritional support such as parenteral nutrition and intragastric feeding, and trophic therapies for bowel adaptation and the microbiome. This research is fundamental to our work with our industry partners and supports drug development and new parenteral feeding formulations. Clinical research also includes investigation in celiac disease and enteral nutrition support in children.
