Joannie Allaire, PhD, is a Medical Science Liaison specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Canada, covering Quebec and Atlantic provinces since June 2022. She obtained her PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Sherbrooke and conducted extensive clinical research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, where she developed a biobank for IBD patient-derived organoid models. A dedicated former researcher on innate immune responses in IBD, Joannie has received over 10 oral awards, multiple fellowships, and independent grants, contributing to 11 publications. As a passionate mentor, she has supervised graduate students and high-qualified personnel. Leveraging over 15 years of expertise in gastroenterology, she now engages with external experts, disseminating IBD research and leads educational initiatives in her MSL role. Joannie's enthusiasm and positivity drive her mission to enhance the lives of patients living with IBD and to strengthen her connections with gastroenterologists across Canada. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys reading, traveling, and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, snowboarding, and fishing.
