I am a third-year Microbiology and Immunology student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) studying the effects of dietary interventions on the gut microbiome of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) under Dr. Genelle Lunken. My passion in the gut stems from a longstanding interest in human-microbiome interactions and its implications on human health. Previously, I studied the correlation between air pollution and chronic pain diseases including IBD under Dr. Tim Oberlander at BC Children's Hospital. In my current capacity as a summer student in Dr. Genelle Lunken's lab, I examine how IBD influences gut health and microbial composition through sample processing and analysis. I'm always interested in meeting and learning from others in the field! Outside of academia, I am an avid Star Wars fan and enjoy playing games or watching movies of the title. I also love classical music, hiking, and strolling around the beautiful campus of UBC.
