Catharine M Walsh, MD, MEd, PhD, is a Staff Gastroenterologist, Senior Scientist and Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. Her research program focuses on studying factors that influence how healthcare providers develop and maintain complex clinical skills, including endoscopy. Dr. Walsh has served in several leadership roles to support endoscopy education, including her current role as a Governing Board Councilor for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She also teaches endoscopy internationally as part of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology's Skills Enhancement in Endoscopy Program and the World Endoscopy Organization's Program for Endoscopic Teachers. Her educational work has been recognized by prestigious awards including the ASGE Distinguished Educator Award.
