Her research interests have included paediatric IBD outcomes research and collaborations to elucidate the genetic basis of susceptibility to IBD in children. She was the Deputy Chair, Executive committee of the Gene-environment-Microbe (GEM) pre-disease cohort study involving healthy first-degree relatives of patients with Crohn's disease. Throughout my career I have endorsed the philosophy of integrating clinical care and research, thereby enabling generation of new knowledge for the benefit of patients. A particular joy of my career has been the opportunity to regularly interact with and mentor enthusiastic trainees from around the world now engaged in IBD research nationally and internationally. My husband and I have 4 adult children and currently 7 grandchildren, all of whom enrich our lives.
